About

Hi, I'm Kevin.

I moved from industrial networking support into product management and now plan AI software products at ASUS NUC. This site also holds my side projects and notes on turning ideas into something I can use.

What have I been working on?

I'm Kevin, and I'm exploring career opportunities in AI product management and technical product management.

I share AI tools and workflows on ai.work.smarter. Through personal projects and local AI experiments on a NUC, I explore how these technologies can be useful in practice.

Some things work well; others still need figuring out. I want to share the process, too: what I tried, how I thought about it, and what I'd like to try next.

Career journey

From solving customer problems to planning the next product.

I started in technical support, then moved into software requirements and product ownership. Today I bring that experience to on-device AI. Across those roles, I still start by asking what someone is trying to accomplish.

  1. 2025.06 — Present

ASUS · NUC Business Unit, Sales PM Team

    Software Product Planner

Bring product experience to on-device AI.

Plan on-device AI software products, from requirements and feature tradeoffs to engineering delivery and continued improvement based on usage feedback.

    • Coordinate engineering delivery of the MVP and subsequent releases, turning requirements into features with clear acceptance criteria.
    • Software Product Planner describes the work I do.
  2. 2022.09 — 2025.06

MOXA · Industrial Networking and Security Division

Senior Product Engineer / Product Manager

Follow the product from specifications through launch.

Owned roadmaps and feature priorities for industrial cybersecurity products, coordinated software releases, and took a hardware product through validation and mass production.

    • Led an industrial firewall through design validation, pilot run, and mass production, with pricing and go-to-market ownership.
    • Customer, sales, and engineering feedback informed subsequent priorities.
  3. 2022.04 — 2022.09

MOXA · Industrial Networking and Security R&D

    Senior Engineer / Software PM

Turn customer problems into requirements a team can work on.

Began authoring software requirements for router and network-management products, coordinating product, R&D, and software quality teams.

    • Introduced Jira and Confluence into the development workflow to keep requirements and collaboration in a shared record.
  4. 2017.09 — 2022.03

    MOXA · Global Customer Service

    Senior Technical Support Engineer

Learn the problem from the people facing it.

Handled industrial networking support cases for customers in Europe and China, learning their requirements through real deployments.

    • Helped customers resolve deployment and usage issues, bringing field feedback back to the product team.

How I approach a project

A few questions before I start building.

01

Understand who it's for

Listen to how people do things today and where they get stuck.

02

Try one small piece

Something people can try makes it easier to discuss what needs changing.

03

Look back at what happened

Keep a record of the results, including anything that turned out differently than expected.
